Gantries with extra long spans (> 10 m) or gantries with only one support on one side

The special configuration is a custom setup for specific situations that cannot be resolved with the standard configuration. There are two main variants: the extended configuration for large spans and the asymmetric configuration for situations where there is only space for an upright on one side.

Main variants

Extended configuration (> 10 m)

Spans exceeding 10 meters can also be safely protected using portal structures. Multiple support posts and crossbeams are combined with in-house developed connection elements. The exact configuration is determined through a stability study, taking into account the required span, conductor loads, and site-specific conditions. Spans of up to 30 meters without intermediate supports are possible.

Asymmetrical configuration

When space is available on only one side for a support post, for example due to a narrow verge or the presence of an obstacle, the portal structure is supported on one side only. ETD bv can realize such configurations with a span of up to 8 m and a clear height of up to 9.50 m.
